I used to go by the name lipshitz on Curezone (and c.s. when I was briefly blocked for linking to my wikispaces account to help compile infomation about this condition). I have had the condition of dry, chronic peeling lips for 13 years now, sometimes with inflammation and bacterial infection, sometimes without, but the exfoliation cycles are always present in some form (though their length of time between cycles and area of peeling changes ever so slightly each time). I had a year or so remission on my upper lip, and may be close to remission again on that lip, but noticed a flare-up last year when I had high levels of stress. The longest I have gone without any visible peeling on either upper or lower lip at all was about two and a half weeks. The condition also began during a very high level of stress time for me, but I did a lot of damage by overusing vaseline products and forcibly peeling the exfoliating skin for two years.-Colin
